Thanks for a great 2016 Summer Camp Season

Check back in December for information about our 2017 Summer Orchestra Camps!

About the Camp...

The Georgia American String Teachers Association Summer Orchestra Camp is the perfect camp for your 4th through 9th grade violin, viola, cello, or bass student.  For over 20 years we have been one of the premier summer camps for string students, focusing on string pedagogy, orchestral experience, and plenty of fun around the edges.  Housed at the beautiful Calvin Center in Hampton, Georgia we are close to home but just far enough away for this to be a great "camp" experience for everything from first time campers to experienced performers.

Intermediate Camp I: June 1-4, 2016
This is the perfect first or second camp experience for students who have a little experience but aren't quite ready for the rigors of the advanced camp. Intermediate to advanced students who have just completed 4th or 5th grade with 2+ years of experience as well as beginning to intermediate 6th grade students (1+ year of experience) will find this camp the perfect balance of challenges and fun! This camp is limited to 34 students so register early!

Advanced Camp 2: June June 5-8, 2016
This is the best camp around for intermediate to advanced 6th through 9th grade orchestra students with 2+ years of experience who want to hone their skills and have fun at the same time!  This camp is limited to 60 students and sells out every year so register early if you want to insure you've got a spot!

How to register...

Students interested in signing up should head to the application page and read over the options and requirements.  Registration opens in late January every year.  Once you submit the application you will receive a confirmation email within about a week and then a full packet of information in the mail about 2 weeks before your camp session is scheduled to begin.
